[Diary]: Start Playing Honkai: Star Rail and Reverse: 1999

This week, I just downloaded both Honkai: Star Rail and Reverse: 1999. I'm not a big gamer or anything. I only ever played Genshin in a long time since it is my jam. But I've been curious about both of those games, so I decided to download it. I'm worried about my laptop's storage, but well, we'll see what to do in the future.

Since I'm a Genshin player, I'm well-aware of Honkai: Star Rail. I knew the gist of the game mechanics, the characters, and the story's big picture. I did download the game on my phone months ago, but my phone couldn't survive it, lol (even though Genshin could still be played there). So I gave up after doing a little bit of Jarilo-VI's main quest.

But then since I have new laptop, and I'm so bored, I decided to download it again. I liked several songs from Star Rail (My recent obsession is Proi-Proi). I have watched some of the cutscenes, so I'm curious about the plot now. I knew the gist of it, but I want to see how it executes in-game (especially Amphoreus). I like doing story analysis, so I might write a review of the Trailblazer Quest here, who knows.

For right now, I'm done with Jarilo-VI's main quest and getting ready to start the Xianzhou Luofu. I knew the big things that are going to happen in this quest, mainly the Dan Heng stuffs, but I'm more curious in how it is presented in game. So even though it is a bit of a shame that I have the big chunk spoiled to me, I'm mostly just want to see the execution.

For the characters, I have some that I want to have in my account. This is mainly because I like their designs. For their personality or story, it needs to wait until I finish the story. For now, I already have Aventurine, Topaz, Evernight for the limited ones. The standard or free ones are Himeko, Gepard, Dan Heng: Permansor Terrae, Dr. Ratio.

My aims now are Hysilens, Castorice, Cyrene, Hyacine, The Herta.

About Reverse: 1999. Initially, I really like the artstyle. It's very distinct amongst the gacha games' sphere. And the game has wide varieties of English accent, so it would be perfect to continue practicing my English. And I heard the story is good too, so I'm looking forward to experience it.

I was hesitant to try it out since I prefer to use the character models as it is (like in Genshin or Star Rail), not the chibified version. But I'm more of story-focused player, so I think I'm willing to give it a try.

I have finished the first chapter(?), that part where we met Regulus and the storm occurred. I haven't continues past that since I want to have ample of time so that I can focus properly. So far, the concept itself is very intriguing and unique. The arts are beautiful. And the opening chapter is not overly bloated with foreign terms, so it's not so hard to keep up.

I prefer an easier opening, especially for a complex story. Reverse: 1999's opening is in the middle, I guess. It's not too hard to follow, but it does give few terms and a bit long of a 'confusion' period. Personally, I would like it more if it's a little bit simpler, but it's not that big of a problem.

I think that's all for now. I'm looking forward to continue the story. I'm hoping I can find it in me to write the review here:D

See you next time!
